The Immigration Act Cap 14:02, through section 5 and the Immigration (Passports) Order made under it, imposes the requirement that a foreign national's passport bear a Guyanese visa before it is accepted for entry; section 12(1) then fixes the maximum stay an immigration officer may grant. This Act creates the obligation rather than reporting one created elsewhere.
Section 12(1)(a) grants an immigrant who is not a national of a Schedule I Part B country a permit to enter and remain for not exceeding three months; these issuers are not in Part B, so the three-month permit is their maximum stay.
