The Immigration Act (Chapter 191) creates the entry obligation: s.19 prohibits landing save with an Immigration Officer's leave, s.22 governs the grant and maximum duration of that leave (not exceeding eight months), and s.20 defines the free-movement categories. The MOFA designation lists and the government's Visa Requirements table operate against this statutory background.
India is on the visa-required designation list; its note states that all Indian nationals who do not meet the visa/permanent-residence or diplomatic-passport conditions require a Bahamian visa.
