Aevamo’s reading

The Republic of Guinea-Bissau's designated Electronic Visa Application System is the state-designated channel of the Serviço de Migração e Fronteiras and states the operative entry rule — 'a biometric visa is required to enter Guinea Bissau' — and that the single-entry biometric visa is 'issued only on arrival at Guinea Bissau International Airport' for stays of up to 90 days. The underlying national decree (Decreto-Lei n.º 1/92, named in the IOM migration profile) is not published online, so this portal is the migration authority's own current statement of the requirement it administers.

The ECOWAS Commission's official member-states page enumerates the current Member States of the Community; Guinea-Bissau (the destination State) is the twelfth member shown on the page and is not an issuer in its own entry regime, so the eleven states quoted here are the other Member States whose citizens are 'citizens of the Community' under Protocol A/P.1/5/79 and therefore enter Guinea-Bissau through an official entry point free of visa requirements for up to 90 days (Article 3(2), quoted in fieldSources). Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are absent from the current list because they withdrew from ECOWAS on 29 January 2025; they are covered separately by the transition row.

Work and residence rights are separate from this check. This is the entry rule and the length of stay the instrument grants. It is not a decision about you: the officer at the border decides admission, and we do not evaluate the purpose of your trip, your passport's remaining validity, an onward ticket, funds, insurance or health requirements.
