Official wording

Maldivian passport holders are exempt from the visa requirement when visiting Barbados for a short-term stay of up to 6 months.

Aevamo’s reading

The Immigration Act Cap. 190 s.9(2) is the instrument that creates the obligation: it empowers the Minister by order to require a visa of the passport of any country's subject or citizen, and s.13(1)(b) with Second Schedule Part II sets the visitor stay. The MFA visa table is the operative list implementing those directions; it describes the position rather than creating it, which is why the Act is the controlling document.

The Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs states Maldivian passport holders are exempt from the Barbados visa requirement for short-term stays of up to 6 months.

What this answer covers Limits & assumptions

Work and residence rights are separate from this check. This is the entry rule and the length of stay the instrument grants. It is not a decision about you: the officer at the border decides admission, and we do not evaluate the purpose of your trip, your passport's remaining validity, an onward ticket, funds, insurance or health requirements.
