Official wording

agreements were signed on the abolition of visa requirements for citizens of the two states … likewise Ghanaian citizens can come to Guyana without the requirement for a visa … In the initial stages, they will be entitled to at least 90 days without having to renew

Aevamo’s reading

The Immigration Act Cap 14:02, through section 5 and the Immigration (Passports) Order made under it, imposes the requirement that a foreign national's passport bear a Guyanese visa before it is accepted for entry; section 12(1) then fixes the maximum stay an immigration officer may grant. This Act creates the obligation rather than reporting one created elsewhere.

The DPI report of the 2019 Guyana–Ghana bilateral agreement states that Ghanaian citizens can come to Guyana without a visa and are entitled to at least 90 days.

What this answer covers Limits & assumptions

Work and residence rights are separate from this check. This is the entry rule and the length of stay the instrument grants. It is not a decision about you: the officer at the border decides admission, and we do not evaluate the purpose of your trip, your passport's remaining validity, an onward ticket, funds, insurance or health requirements.
