Official wording

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho has announced that, as of 10 June 2025, citizens of all Member States of the European Union may travel to Lesotho without a visa. The visa-free regime applies to all categories of passports and for stays of up to 14 days.

Aevamo’s reading

Section 5(2) of the Aliens Control Act 1966 is what creates the obligation: an alien may enter Lesotho for a visit only while in possession of a valid passport, and s.2(5)(f) defines a valid passport as one bearing a visa unless a visa is dispensed with under an arrangement to which Lesotho is a party. The Ministry's e-visa rule and the embassy's country list administer that statutory requirement.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs records the Lesotho MFA's announcement that from 10 June 2025 citizens of all European Union member states may travel to Lesotho visa-free for stays of up to 14 days; Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia are all Member States of the European Union, so each is covered by that class rule.

The Bulgaria MFA advisory records 'Last update 05 November 2025' and the EU waiver 'as of 10 June 2025'. The controlling statute is the Aliens Control Act 1966 (No. 16 of 1966).

What this answer covers Limits & assumptions

Work and residence rights are separate from this check. This is the entry rule and the length of stay the instrument grants. It is not a decision about you: the officer at the border decides admission, and we do not evaluate the purpose of your trip, your passport's remaining validity, an onward ticket, funds, insurance or health requirements.
